The Workforce Training department offers an Associate of Applied Schiece degree and a one-year Certificate of Completion in Homeland Security, and an array of non-credit, continuing education programs and customized training to individuals, business, and industry in the form of short courses, workshops, or conferences. Training is offered on-campus, off-campus, and through distance learning methods and may generate Continuing Education Units (CEU) or extension credit.

While students must apply, complete registration, and pay fees, these activities are separate from those forms and procedures required of students pursuing degrees. Transcripts and records are maintained in both the Workforce Training Office and the Admissions and Records office at Lamar University-Beaumont.
